Azealia Banks Drags Cardi B And RZA On Breakfast Club

Azealia Banks opens up about life and music in an hour long Breakfast Club therapy session.

Azealia Banks sat down with Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy for her first Breakfast Club appearance on Friday (May 11). Things started off relatively smooth with the controversial rapper saying she lives a “normal life” and calling herself “that dorky black girl that everyone thinks is kind of weird.”

But once the topic turned to the infamous RZA and Russell Crowe incident, things took a sharp left. Azealia calls out RZA, calls him a coon for siding with Russell Crowe. She says RZA siding with Russell Crowe over the assault made their movie flop. She said:

“RZA isn’t the man he puts himself out to be and he’s a massive coke head, always strung out and desperate for money. ”

Cardi B wasn’t safe from Banks’ wrath either. When confronted about calling the “Bodak Yellow” rapper “an illiterate rat” back in February, she essentially credited the low standards in current mainstream rap for Cardi’s success. Azealia says:

“When I look at black women’s culture as a whole thing and you think about the media and the power that the media has. The media had the power to get rid of me and the media has the power to make anyone the forefront,”

Banks went on to describe Cardi as a “caricature of a black woman that black women themselves would never be able to get away with.” Azealia said:

“Two years ago, the conversation surrounding black women’s culture was really reaching an all-time high and we were really like discussing our power amongst ourselves, Beyoncé came out with Lemonade. There was just this really, intelligent conversation going on nationally and then everything just kind of changed and then it was like Cardi B […] I’m just talking about this caricature of a black woman that black women themselves would never be able to get away with. Like if if my spelling and grammar were that bad… I’d be cancelled. If Nicki Minaj spelled like that, we’d be ragging on her all day.”

Last month, Banks alleged on a now-deleted Instagram Story that she’d been sexually assaulted. Azealia explained:

“It was a white man because black men don’t drug women to rape them.

Azealia said she was already drunk, he slipped something in her drink when she wasn’t looking. She invited him back up to her hotel room where they drank a alot more. Then, she got naked and started dancing around the room. Before she knew it, he was eating her ass. Azealia says then she felt her body get heavy and he tried to have sex with her. Whatever drug he gave her made her pussy dry and that he couldn’t penetrate her because of how dry she was.

Once she realized she was on drugs she didn’t know about, she collapsed on her bed, cried and he left. She ends up just calling it a messy dry hump. Sitting on The Breakfast Club Azealia Banks seems to have matured since the moments that people won’t let escape her. She’s holding herself accountable for her actions, but is also not shying away from her opinions. You don’t have to agree with her, but her life experience colors the way she feels about the industry, and it’s not fair to invalidate that. Check out the full interview below.
